19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized the Russian player secured his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.

The win also signifies he has won twenty-one championships at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.

His counter-punching approach and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was over.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an improved service.

The champion came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

He saved 4 early break points in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
